A More Human Education. A Deeper World.
Ordinary platforms organize content. Mettica organizes understanding.
Mettica is an open, multi-sensory educational platform that makes complex, interdisciplinary knowledge accessible at every depth, from a first intuition to formal mastery, while keeping the connections between disciplines in view.

Fractal depth
One concept, four depths
Understanding grows by returning to the same idea with better tools. Choose a level to watch symmetry deepen from a first impression to open research questions.
Symmetry · Intuitive
Looks the same after a change
Fold a square along its middle and the two halves match exactly. Flip it across that line and nothing appears to have happened. That sameness after a change is the everyday core of symmetry, visible in a butterfly’s wings, a balanced facade, or a snowflake.
Goal at this depth: Orient the learner before requiring specialized vocabulary.
Each level is the same concept seen more deeply, not a different lesson.

Six domains to begin with
Philosophy, the formal, natural, social, and applied sciences, and the humanities and arts are Mettica’s first public domains: starting points on one connected map, not permanent silos.

Interdisciplinary
Ideas don’t stay inside one discipline
The same concept appears in several fields, and each field reveals a different side of it. Mettica maps those relationships directly, so moving between subjects follows the structure of the ideas themselves.
Hover over, focus, or select a concept to trace the disciplines it connects.
Symmetry
Invariance under transformation: formalized as a group, tied to conservation laws, used in structural design and artistic composition, and debated as a question about sameness.
Causation
What it means for one thing to bring about another: analyzed by philosophers, formalized in causal models, tested in experiments, and inferred from social data.
Revolution
Abrupt structural change: in political orders, in frameworks of thought, and in artistic movements.
Harmony
A fitting relationship among parts: heard in music, explained by acoustics, and expressed as numerical ratio.
Infinity
The unbounded: made rigorous in set theory, argued over in metaphysics, and evoked in art.
Feedback
Outputs that loop back to change the system producing them: control in engineering, homeostasis in biology, self-reinforcing cycles in markets and societies, and stability in dynamical systems.
Multi-sensory
Each medium shows something the others hide
Geometry, sound, simulation, narrative, and text are not decoration. Mettica uses each one where it exposes structure that another would conceal.
Visual geometry
Shows spatial, relational, hierarchical, and dynamical structure at a glance.
Reveals: Drawing the eight symmetries of a square exposes a pattern that a written list of rotations and reflections hides.
Auditory modeling
Reveals structure carried by timing, frequency, rhythm, and pattern.
Reveals: Hearing a 3:2 frequency ratio as a perfect fifth makes a numerical relationship directly perceptible.
Simulation
Lets learners manipulate variables and build causal intuition by exploring consequences.
Reveals: Changing a pendulum’s length and watching its period respond turns a formula into something you can test.
Narrative
Carries temporal processes, motivated discovery, and human context.
Reveals: Following how non-Euclidean geometry emerged shows why an apparently obvious axiom was questioned at all.
Structured text
Provides precision, qualification, definitions, argument, and citation.
Reveals: A careful definition of continuity settles disputes that pictures and intuition leave open.
Open knowledge
Rigor without gatekeeping
Mettica is designed for self-directed mastery. Its architecture favors synthesis over fragments and keeps the structure of knowledge visible.
Open access
Mettica is built to be freely reachable, so access to understanding does not depend on enrollment.
Traceable structure
Every explanation shows where it sits: what it depends on, what it connects to, and how deep it goes.
Learner-controlled depth
Learners decide how far to go, moving from intuition to formal treatment without losing the thread.
Sources and citations
Claims will link to the sources and primary texts they rest on, so rigor can be checked rather than assumed.
In development
Ecosystem
Independent, and connected
Mettica stands on its own as an open learning system. It also belongs to a wider body of work and serves institutions that build on it.
The broader ecosystem
Saformica
A wider body of work spanning philosophy, computation, education, and institutional systems. Saformica is the context Mettica grows within.

The open learning system
Mettica
A general system and open protocol for representing understanding at variable depth, across media and disciplines. It stands on its own and can serve many institutions.
An institutional application
Hemingway University
An institution that can use Mettica as foundational learning infrastructure, adding its own programs and community on top.
